In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Tuckhill like this:

Tuck Hill, eccl. dist., Alveley and Claverley pars., Shropshire,and Bobbington and Envillepars., Stafford shire, 10 miles SW. of Wolverhampton, pop. 333.
