Descriptive gazetteer entries

In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Lleyn like this:

Lleyn, peninsular part of Carnarvonshire, between Cardigan Bay and Carnarvon Bay; is 28 miles long, and has an average breadth of 6½ miles.

This is the only descriptive gazetter entry we have found, but you may be able to find further references to Lleyn by doing a full-text search here.
