Descriptive gazetteer entries

In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Wood Green like this:

Wood Green, eccl. dist. and ry. sta., partly in West Bromwich par. and bor., but chiefly in Wednesbury par. and bor., Staffordshire, pop. 4032; the sta. lies between James Bridge sta. and Bascot Junction.

This is the only descriptive gazetter entry we have found, but you may be able to find further references to Wood Green by doing a full-text search here.
