Although Richard's indicates two ancient parishes for Llandysilio East (Carmarthenshire) and Llandysilio West (Pembrokeshire), no evidence has been found to confirm this. The Census records a single ancient parish that crossed the county boundary and this unit represents this, with the other units amended to become parochial areas.
