Notes:

The divisions of the moorland in the Aysgarth area were clearly poorly defined, and the census reports often list units for which they do not provide separate statistics. Wether Fell was listed as a separate unit by Youngs and by the 1891 and 1901 censuses, the censuses putting it in Hawes sub-District. In 1911, 1921 and 1931 Wether Fell is listed with Mossdale Moor, so that combination is treated here as a new unit.
