nCube definition

Since 1951 the census has gathered data on many different "amenities", but no individual amenity has been recorded by every census. We therefore simplify the available information to having versus not having ALL amenities recorded by the census in question. In 1951, this meant having exclusive use of piped water, a cooking stove, a kitchen sink, a Water Closet (toilet) and a fixed bath, while in 2011 it simply meant having some form of central heating.
