Descriptive gazetteer entries

In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Wiverton Hall like this:

Wiverton Hall, par. and seat, Notts, near Bingham, 3442 ac. (including Langar), pop. 18; the mansion was fortified and garrisoned for Charles I., but was destroyed during the Civil War; it has been rebuilt within the present century.

This is the only descriptive gazetter entry we have found, but you may be able to find further references to Wiverton Hall by doing a full-text search here.
