HORSEHOUSE, a chapelry in Coverham parish, N. R. Yorkshire; on the river Cover, 7 ½ miles S w of Middleham, and 8½ S W by S of Leyburn r. station. It has a post office under Bedale. The statistics are returned with the parish. The living is a p. curacy, annexed to the p. curacy of Coverham, in the diocese of Ripon.
