PENN-STREET, a hamlet in Penn parish, and a chapelry partly also in Little Missenden parish, Bucks. The hamlet lies 3¼ miles W by S of Amersham, and 3¼ E N E of Wycombe r. station: and has a post-office under Amersham. The chapelry was constituted in 1850. Rated property, £1, 500. ...
Pop., 693. Houses, 161. Pop. of the Penn portion, 251. Houses, 59. The property is subdivided. Penn House here, a very ancient building, is the residence of Viscount Curzon. The living is a p. curacy in the diocese of Oxford. Value, £143. Patron, Earl Howe. The church is modern, cruciform, and beautiful; and has a lofty spire.
