GREENHOW HILL, a village in Ripon and Burnsall parishes, and a chapelry in Ripon, Burnsall, and Hampsthwaite parishes, N. R. Yorkshire. The village is in Bewerley and Appletreewick townships, and stands gear Pateley Bridge town and r. station. The chapelry was constituted in 1860; and its post town is Pateley Bridge, under Leeds. ...


Pop., 748. Houses, 164. Pop. of the Ripon portion, 6 57. Houses, 144. The living is a p. curacy in the diocese of Ripon. Value, £117. * Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Ripon. The church was built in 1857; is in the modern Gothic style; and has a square tower.
