BETTWS-NEWYDD, a parish in Abergavenny district, Monmouth; near the river Usk, 2 ¼. miles E of Nantyderry r. station, and 3½ N by W of Usk. It has a post office under Newport, Monmouth. Acres, 1,122. Real property, £1,057. Pop., 129. Houses, 27. The property is divided among a few. The living is a p. curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Llanarth, in the diocese of Llandaff. The church is bad.
