BARFORTH, a township in Forcett parish, N. R. Yorkshire; on the river Tees, 6 miles W by S of Darling ton. It had a Roman station; and was formerly called Old Richmond. Acres, 1,750. Real property, £2,403. Pop., 167. Houses, 25.
