APPLETON-LE-MOORS, a chapelry in Lastingham parish, N. R. Yorkshire; 5 miles NW of Pickering. Acres, 2,570. Real property, £2,023. Pop., 265. Houses, 53. The living is a vicarage. Value, £301. The church was rebuilt in 1868. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
