The village is in Bewerley and Appletreewick townships, and stands gear Pateley Bridge town and r. station. The chapelry was constituted in 1860; and its post town is Pateley Bridge, under Leeds. Pop., 748. Houses, 164. Pop. of the Ripon portion, 6 57. Houses, 144. The living is a p. curacy in the diocese of Ripon. Value, £117. * Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Ripon. The church was built in 1857; is in the modern Gothic style; and has a square tower.
