Sussex, 8 miles N. of Hailsham, 8032 ac., pop. 1995; P.O., T.O.; in vicinity are the seats of Heathfield Park (once the property of General Elliot, of Gibraltar fame) and Heathfield Lodge; also Heathfield (or Gibraltar) Tower, 590 ft. above sea-level, erected in memory of General Elliot.
