Lancashire, 3 miles W. of Burnley and 8 miles NE. of Blackburn - township, 1953 ac., pop. 8346; town (Padiham and Hapton), pop. 8974; P.O., T.O., and P.O. at Padiham Road, 2 Banks. The town is a local government district, and carries on mfrs. of cotton; coal mines and stone quarries are in the neighbourhood.
