Wharncliffe, vil., Wath upon Dearne par., S. div. West-Riding Yorkshire, 6 miles NW. of Sheffield; P.O.; has quarries and mfrs. of cutlery; in vicinity is Wharncliffe Lodge (1510), seat of Lord Wharncliffe; from the summit of Wharncliffe Crags extensive and magnificent views are obtained.
