Uckfield, market town and par., Sussex, on river Ouse, 8 miles NE. of Lewes and 50 miles S. of London by rail, 1760 ac., pop. 2146; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank; stands in the midst of fine scenery, carries on malting and brewing, and has trade in corn and timber.
