Kirklees, vil., Dewsbury par., S. div. West-Riding Yorkshire, on river Calder, 4 miles NE. of Huddersfield; has remains of a Cistercian nunnery (1155), in which Robin Hood is said to have died; in vicinity of vil. is the seat of Kirklees Hall.
