Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Tantallon Castle

Tantallon Castle, ruin, on coast of Haddingtonshire, in par. and 3 miles E. of North Berwick; stands on a lofty precipice facing the Bass Rock, was the property of the Earl of Angus, and was dismantled by the Covenanters in 1639.
