Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Invertiel

Invertiel, a quoad sacra parish in Abbotshall and Kinghorn parishes, Fife, comprising part of the southern or Linktown extremity of Kirkcaldy. Constituted in 1869, it is in the presbytery of Kirkealdy and synod of Fife. The church was built before 1843 as a chapel of ease at a cost of £1400, and contains 800 sittings. Pop. (1871) 1828, (1881) 2023, of whom 904 were in Kinghorn parish.—Ord. Sur., sh. 40, 1867.
