WOOLTON (Much), a township, containing W. village, most of W. chapelry, and Thingwall hamlet, in Childwall parish, Lancashire; 5 miles SE of Liverpool. Acres, 930. Real property, £14,636; of which £400 are in quarries. Pop., 3,586. Houses, 702. The property is much subdivided. The manor belongs to the Marquis of Salisbury. W. Hall is the seat of J. R. Jeffrey, Esq. There are several good residences of Liverpool merchants.
