RUDGWICK, a village and a parish in Petworth district, Sussex. The village stands adjacent to the Guildford and Horsham railway, near the river Arun, 6 miles N W by W of Horsham; and has a r. station with telegraph, and a post-office‡ under Horsham. The parish contains also the hamlets of Bucks-Green and Haven, and comprises 5, 830 acres. ...
Real property, £4, 805. Pop., 1,068. Houses, 208. The property is much sub-divided. Maybanks and Tismans House are chief residences. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Chichester. Value, £260.* Patron, the Bishop of Chichester. The church is a handsome edifice, with a lowtower; and has some fine stained-glass windows, two of which were put up in 1866 as memorials of the late Mr.and Mrs. Braby. I here is a village school.
