THORNBURY, a parish, with a village, in Holsworthy district, Devon; 13 miles SSW of Bideford r. station. Post town, Brandis-Corner, North Devon. Acres, 2,772. Real property, £1,811. Pop. in 1851, 489; in 1861, 365. Houses, 83. The property is divided among a few. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Exeter. Value, £198.* Patron, Mrs. Edgecombe. The church is partly Norman. There is a Methodist chapel.
