CASTLESIDE, a chapelry in Lanchester parish, Durham; 3 miles SSW of Shotley-Bridge. It was constituted in 1864; and it has a post office under Gateshead. Pop., 1,176. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Durham. Value, £300.
