Descriptive gazetteer entries

In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Fleur de Lis like this:

Fleur-de-Lis, vil., Bedwelty and Mynyddyslwyn pars., on W. border of Monmouthshire, 1½ mile from Pengam sta.; P.O.; in vicinity are several collieries.

This is the only descriptive gazetter entry we have found, but you may be able to find further references to Fleur de Lis by doing a full-text search here.
