In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Nook like this:
NOOK, a township in Bellingham parish, Northumberland; at the confluence of the rivers Reed and North Tyne, 2 miles S E of Bellingham. Pop., 53. Houses, 10. The manor belongs to the Duke of Northumberland.
The location is that given by GENUKI (http://www.bpears.org.uk/genuki/NBL/Bellingham/Maps.html, accessed 14/1/2011), but fits the location given by the Bartholomew and Imperial gazetteers, i.e. by the junction of the North Tyne and Rede rivers.
