SHORTHAMPTON, a chapelry, with two hamlets, in Charlbury parish, Oxford; on the river Evenlode, 2 miles W by N of Charlbury r. station. Post town, Charlbury, under Enstone. Real property, £1,649. Pop., 257. Houses, 58. The manor belongs to Lord Churchill. Rangers Lodge and Pudlicott manor-house are chief residences. The living is annexed to Charlbury.
