In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Kilmorack like this:
Kilmorack, par. and hamlet, N. Inverness-shire - par., 142,909 ac., pop. 2618; hamlet, 2½ miles SW. of Beauly; P.O.; in vicinity of hamlet, on river Beauly, are the Kilmorack Falls.
