In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Findo Gask like this:

Findo-Gask, par. and hamlet (ry. sta. Balgowan), Perthshire, --par., 5185 ac., pop. 364; hamlet, 2 miles SE. of sta. and 8 miles SW. of Perth; P.O., called Gask; the par. is traversed by a Roman road. See GASK.
