In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Drumoak like this:
Drumoak, par., partly in Kincardine but chiefly in Aberdeen, 7228 ac., pop. 930; P.O.; contains the stations of Drum and Park, 10 m. and 11 m. SW. of Aberdeen.
