WINTHORPE, a parish in Newark district, Notts; 1½ mile NNE of Newark r. station. It has a post-office under Newark. Acres, 680. Real property, £1,956. Pop., 269. Houses, 63. W. Hall is the seat of G. Hodgkinson, Esq. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln. Value, £180. Patron, J. Handley, Esq. The church is tolerable. There are a Wesleyan chapel and an endowed school.
