MELBOURNE, or MELBURN, a township in Thornton parish, E. R. Yorkshire; on the Pocklington canal, 4 ½ miles SW of Pocklington. It has a post office under York, and a Wesleyan chapel. Acres, 3,130. Real property, £3,198. Pop., 568. Houses, 119.
