BABINGTON, a parish in Frome district, Somerset; 5 miles WNW of Frome r. station. Post Town, Mells under Frome. Acres, 607. Real property, £1,448. Pop., 129. Houses, 25. The property is divided among a few. Babington House is the seat of W. F. Knatchbull. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells. Value, £170. Patron, the Rev. T. R. Jolliffe. The church is good; and there are an endowed school with £15, and other charities with £10.
