Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for NIDD VALLEY railway

NIDD VALLEY railway, a railway in W. R. Yorkshire; from a junction with the Leeds, Harrogate, and Thirsk, at Harrogate, 14 miles north-westward, up the valley of the Nidd river, to Pateley-Bridge. It was constructed by the North eastern company, at a cost of £90,000; and was opened on 1 May, 1862.
