Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for SILVER PIT

SILVER PIT, a depression in the North Sea; 16 miles E of Saltfleet, in Lincoln. It is about 5 miles long, and has depths of from 27 to 47 fathoms; while the seabottom around it has depths of only from 9 to 18 fathoms.
