Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for FAL (The)

FAL (The), a river of Cornwall. It rises to the west of Roche; runs southward, about 16 miles, past Grampound and Tregony; becomes ramified with estuarial branches toward Tresilian, Truro, and other places; proceeds southwards, about 7 miles, to the sea at Falmouth; and forms there a spacions harbour. It has, in late times, come to be commonly called the Truro river.
