Dee.-- river, N. Wales and Cheshire; issues from Lake Bala, Merioneth, and flows NE., N., and NW. to the Irish Sea 20 miles below Chester; is 90 miles long, including an estuary of 13 miles; an artificial cut (7 miles) runs from Chester to the upper part of estuary.
