Foffarty, a property in Kinnettles parish, Forfarshire, 3 miles SSW of Forfar. A Roman Catholic chapel, with manse and offices, was built here soon after the Reformation, on the margin of a den at the foot of Kincaldrum Hill; and, burned by a party of royal dragoons in 1745, remaincd in a roofless and ruinous condition for many years, till it was razed to the foundations in 1816.
